Our Trip to the Police Station

2/20/09
Arrow Academy at the Avon Police station. We had a tour from the chief of police.

Here is the court room

When someone is brought in the police car, they are taken here, to a holding room.

Here are lockers that evidence is stored in.

This is just behind the main lobby, where we dropped off the cookies we made for the officers.

Review from school this week: 2/25/09

*The flower pots have sunflower seeds in them and we read the book "The Tiny Seed" by Eric Carle and discussed Random acts of Kindess.

*We read a story about a monster coming to school and not showing good character - that's why we made "monster" masks.

*The bags of candy were because we did an activity about Mrs. Henry dividing up the candy that I brought in a fair way. The kids decided what a fair way would be to divide the candy. I was very proud of how they decided this!!!

Just wanted to give you an explanation of some of the things we did in case you were wondering what they were for

Feb at school!!!

Our Valentine's Day at Kindergarten Co-op:
The children had a great time!
Mrs. Henry was the teacher for February. Here is an update from her:
Have a great day!
Leslie :-)

Hey, ladies!

Just wanted to give you an update about what we're talking about in class this month. The theme is "character": The first week the topic was "RESPECT", the second week was "CARING" and this week we talked about "CITIZENSHIP" AND "RESPONSIBILITY". They have "homework" for this week to fill out the "taking responsibility for myself" worksheet and bring it back next week - those who do will receive a surprise!! Also, some kids asked for more "BEE Kind" hearts to bring home so they can still fill those out for a pencil.

Also wanted to let you know that every student has been really good and has been a joy to teach!!

Thanks,
Mandi
